On Wednesday, Oct. 10, at St. Anthony’s High School, South Huntington, Bishop John Barres was the presider and homilist at the Red Mass celebrated for the Suffolk County chapter of the Catholic Lawyers Guild. The liturgy, which traditionally marks the beginning of the judicial year, invokes the Holy Spirit’s blessing, counsel and guidance upon all members of the legal profession. Msgr. James Vlaun, president and CEO of the Catholic Faith Network, addressed the attendees during a dinner reception following the Mass.
