The Knights of Columbus Council 5817 in Wading River is hosting its 9th annual Charity Fundraiser Golf Outing, Dinner and Auction. The event will be held on June 9, 2017 at Rock Hill in Manorville. Outing will honor Boots on the Ground NY, a local Long Island veteran’s charity group aiding in many phases of care for Long Island veterans and their families in need. Also continues to support of the Lt. Michael O’Shea Service Award Fund which is awarded to local teens for the service to the parish community. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit Little Flower Catholic Children’s Services as well as benefiting St. John the Baptist’s Catholic Outreach services. Cost is $150 for golfers and $50 for non-golfer dinner guests. Corpus Christi Procession, Patchogue

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 495 N.Ocean Ave in Patchogue have its annual Corpus Christi Procession at 12:30 p.m. Join parish clergy, altar servers and Knights of Columbus as they process with the Blessed Sacrament down North Ocean Ave and Route 112.  There will be water provided and a car following for anyone that can’t walk the entire way. Annual Beauty of the Spirit Luncheon, Woodbury

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville will host their 16th annual Beauty of the Spirit Luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The annual luncheon celebrates the spirit and strength of women.  The keynote speaker is Sister Honora Nolty, OP, Director of Development at RENEW International in Plainfield, NJ, a Catholic organization fostering spiritual renewal, evangelization, catechesis and faith formation through small Christian communities. Padre Pio Prayer Group

On every First Friday of the month, Holy Name of Jesus Church (690 Woodbury Road, Woodbury) hosts a Padre Pio Prayer Group gathering. There is a 7 pm Holy Hour with Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and confessions, and an 8 pm Mass followed by Veneration of the Glove of St. Padre Pio and then a social gathering with refreshments.

Stepping Out is a social group of men and women who have experienced the loss of a beloved spouse and feel it is time to enjoy the friendship of other widows and widowers. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, 2 to 4 p.m, September through June in the Delaney (St. James) Parish Center Hall. At the meetings we have various programs, speakers, dinners, parties or play cards and games and always end our meetings with coffee, tea and cake. Family/Caregiver Support Group Meetings, West Islip

Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center is offering Family/Caregiver Support Group Meetings. Caregivers are often so busy caring for others that they tend to neglect their own emotional, physical and spiritual health. These meetings are open to the community and are being held the second Tuesday of each month 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the Board Room of the Care Center in West Islip. Led by social workers from Good Shepherd Hospice and Our Lady of Consolation, each meeting will offer information regarding how to deal with stress/emotions, coping mechanisms, adjusting to new roles, caring for yourself, end-of-life issues, community resources, and all-around support.
