I just came from the regular meeting with my closest pastoral advisors.  I am so proud of what the Church on Long Island is doing to help those harmed by the hurricane. Catholic Charities swung into action and has not stopped bringing relief and hope. Young people from our schools and colleges volunteer to help, distribute goods, visit homes.  Parish outreach in every parish is responding to specific requests.  Over half a million dollars is distributed through parishes to families.  Our Faith Formation folk stand ready to counsel, help and comfort people in distress.  Our pastors and their staffs are outstanding in their generosity.  I pray for you all and I bless you all.  Keep up the good work!
