Massapequa — More than 90 couples were honored for 50 or more years of marriage at the diocesan Golden Wedding celebration held on Sunday, Oct. 5 at St. Rose of Lima Church here sponsored by the diocesan Office of Worship. Bishop John Dunne presided at the Mass for the honored couples.
The celebration, attended by the couples’ family and friends, included the renewal of marriage vows by the couples. Each couple had the option of having their photograph taken with Bishop Dunne, which will be sent to them with a commemorative scroll.
The Golden Wedding celebration is held several times throughout the year at parishes in Nassau and Suffolk.
