Pope Francis has said: “We are all sinners. Each and every one of us. But the grace of Jesus Christ saves us from sin. It saves us.”
We have come through a very dark period in our Church. Many of you have left the Church due to our deep failings. I know that and it gives me great sadness. Oh God, please accept my sincere apology. Pope Francis invites us to conversation. So – can we get together? Can we talk?
I have given my heart and soul to Jesus Christ and to His Church for over 44 years. I know the Church’s failings but I also know the Church’s grace and goodness. We possess a great gift in Sunday Mass. Jesus is present in a most unique and special way in His Body and Blood as nourishment for love. So – please come home, come home to the Eucharist. It is a festival of hope.
We are all sinners. So – let us be sinners together. As Pope Francis has said: “The Eucharist, although it is the fullness of Sacramental life, is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine for the weak.”
So, let us journey together each Sunday around the Word of God and the Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ. Do not let anyone keep you from Christ. Do not let anyone keep you from the Eucharist.
Please come home. Come home to the Eucharist.
May the Lord give you peace.
