Congratulations to the Friars of St. Anthony’s High School, South Huntington, the 2018 diocesan boys basketball tournament champions! St. Anthony’s, the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, captured the crown with a 63-60 victory over the top-seeded Flyers of Chaminade High School, Mineola, on Tuesday night at Hofstra University. Friars senior Jonathan Harewood led all scorers with 22 points as St. Anthony’s won its second tourney title in three years. Sophomore Michael O’Connell had a team-high 21 points for the Flyers.
