The Brother Joseph C. Fox Latin School had its annual Spelling Bee in the fall in the Kellenberg Memorial High School auditorium. Twenty-eight contestants battled through eighteen rounds of challenging words until it came down to two words, “psychiatrist” and “rhinoceros.” The winner of the Spelling Bee was Ashley Codner, left, of 8A, and the runner-up was Sarah Pajonas, second from right, of 7D. Ashley will compete in the Long Island Spelling Bee in the spring. Pictured, from left, are Ashley, Mrs. Clara Villani, Sarah and Miss Maria Korzekwinski.
