Long-Island based Wright Insurance Group recently presented Catholic Charities’ CEO Laura Cassell with a check for $50,000 to assist local victims of Hurricane Sandy with food, clothing and other much-needed emergency services. Thus far, Catholic Charities has distributed thousands of pounds of goods to hard-hit Long Islanders and has provided more than a quarter of a million dollars in direct financial assistance toward repairing roofs, replacing boilers, and eliminating mold. The social service agency has also established a Disaster Case Management office in Amityville to help individuals with long-term recovery efforts.
