Telecare, the television station of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, will conduct its annual fundraising telethon the weekend of January 17-18, 2015.
The telethon will air from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, with both day-long broadcasts being re-aired overnight on Saturday and Sunday.
Phone lines will be open throughout the live broadcasts and the overnight re-broadcasts. The telethon will air on Cablevision channel 29/137, Verizon FiOS channel 296 and Time Warner Cable channel 471. Viewers can also catch the telethon online at www.telecaretv.org.
This year, the telethon will be 18 hours filled with many guest “stars” including many of the clergy, religious and dedicated lay people of our diocese. Additionally, visits from some celebrity chefs, musical groups and New York sports teams will help fuel the enjoyment.
“Our television ministry has grown immensely in the last year, said Msgr. James C. Vlaun, Telecare President and CEO. “Our telethon is the one time we reach out to our viewers to seek their direct support of this vital work of the Church. I am so grateful to God for the many people who either call in a pledge at 516-538-8811 or make a secure online donation with a credit card or through Paypal at www.telecaretv.org. You are helping the Word of God to be preached through this very powerful medium.”
All funds raised from the telethon are used in the television ministry.
Contributions can be made by phoning in to the telethon directly at 516-538-8811 or 855-222-0000; via direct mail by making checks out to Telecare, P.O. Box 158, Uniondale, NY 11553; or online by visiting the Telecare web site at telecaretv.org. Telecare accepts all major credit cards.
