Bishop Robert J. Brennan, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, gave his blessing at the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the new headquarters of the Cancer Institute of St. Francis Hospital on September 17.  Located at 2200 Northern Boulevard in East Hills, the state-of-the-art center provides cancer patients with leading edge medical care and infusion therapy in a soothing environment.

“Being diagnosed and treated for cancer can be an extremely stressful experience. Our mission is to provide the very best treatment in the most comfortable setting – living up to our motto of putting our heart into cancer care,” says Dr. Bhoomi Mehrotra, director of Oncology and the Cancer Institute.

The project features a new, larger facility with advanced technology and an expanded clinical team. Funded with the support of private philanthropy, it reflects St. Francis Hospital’s ongoing commitment to meet growing demand for non-cardiac specialties such as cancer care.

Joining the Cancer Institute at the 2200 Northern Boulevard address will be several other non-cardiac medical practices that are affiliated with St. Francis Hospital. They include New York Surgical Partners, ISK Orthopaedics, and Long Island Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Services. The complex, which was the former site of the Pall Corporation, is accessible from the Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway. It offers ample parking for patients and their families.
