Rockville Centre Bishop John Barres has named Father Lachlan Cameron the new director of the Sacred Heart Institute for the Ongoing Formation of Clergy at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, and the director of Campus Ministry for the diocese. The appointment was effective June 1. Father Cameron will continue to serve as the chaplain at Stony Brook University.

Father Cameron was ordained in 2008 and has served as the diocesan director of worship as well as an associate pastor at St. Rose of Lima parish, Massapequa; St. Anthony of Padua parish, East Northport and St. Agnes Cathedral parish, Rockville Centre. He has also served as chaplain at Adelphi and Stony Brook Universities.

Born in Scotland, Father Cameron grew up in the Parish of Holy Spirit in New Hyde Park and attended Chaminade High School in Mineola.
