When Noreen O’Donnell Crayne, the Regent of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Queen of Angels no. 869 in Hicksville, and her daughter, Katie, left on a humanitarian mission trip to Kenya on July 29th, they took with them the prayers of their council as well as 68 dresses made by the Catholic Daughters.

The women joined Father  Saúl Londoño—a Yarumal Missionary—and eight others on the mission trip.  The group was blessed at a special Mass celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hicksville, on July 26th—officiated by Bishop Nelson Perez. They will spend 35 days spreading the word of God and helping the Kenyans.

Queen of Angels no. 869 members, under the direction of Vice-Regent Maria Petsche, made  68 dresses using  donated  pillowcases. Petsche organized an assembly line so that everyone—even self-described “non-sewers”—had important tasks to do.
