The Diocese of Rockville Centre is privileged to host the Major Relics of St. Maria Goretti at two locations –Saturday, September 26 at Holy Name of Jesus Church,690 Woodbury Rd., Woodbury and Sunday, September 27 at St. Agnes Cathedral, 29 Quealy Place, Rockville Centre. This is part of the Pilgrimage of Mercy Tour of the Major Relics of St. Maria Goretti in the United States to prepare for the great celebration of the Extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy, beginning December 8th, 2015, as announced by His Holiness Pope Francis.

While St. Maria Goretti is universally known as the Patroness of Purity, her greatest virtue was her unyielding forgiveness of her attacker.

At Holy Name of Jesus, public veneration  begins at 10:30 am with Solemn Mass celebrated in St. Maria’s honor at 11:30 am.  (In  Memory of Joseph Mario Reali). Public veneration ends at 10 pm. Veneration paused from 5 to 6:15 pm for Sunday Vigil Mass and 7:45-9pm for Korean Vigil Mass.

At St. Agnes, Mass will be celebrated in St. Maria’s honor at 5 pm followed by public veneration until 10 pm.
