Msgr. Charles Fink was awarded the Immaculate Conception Medal at the annual Te Deum Dinner hosted by Bishop John Barres and the Friends of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Huntington, on Sunday, November 4.
The Te Deum Dinner celebrates the priesthood “from the joyful enthusiasm of the first days to the witness of priestly fidelity through the years.” Father Leo Song, who was ordained in June and is currently an associate pastor at St. Rose of Lima in Massapequa, was also honored at the evening, which included solemn vespers and benediction before a reception dinner.
Established in 2014 by Bishop William Murphy, the Immaculate Conception medal is awarded to a senior priest in recognition of the special qualities of commitment and fidelity to a lifetime of priestly service. Msgr. Fink, a member of the Immaculate Conception Seminary Class of 1976, is a former director of Spiritual Formation at the seminary. He is currently pastor at Our Lady of the Snow, Blue Point.
A U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam before entering the seminary, Msgr. Fink was commended at the Te Deum dinner for his service to the country and the priesthood.
