Current and former students, administrators, faculty and staff of St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope Regional School, Westbury, packed St. Brigid Church on Saturday, Sept. 8, for a Mass marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the school.

Bishop John Barres was the principal celebrant and homilist at a morning liturgy. Following the service, the bishop joined those gathered for the occasion in a procession from the church to the school. The Firebird Pipe Band of Kellenberg Memorial High School, Uniondale, led the group along the three-quarter mile route.

The celebration continued at the school, where participants were treated to hot dogs, hamburgers and other tasty treats. Entertainment included pony rides, an inflatable bounce castle, giant slide and face painting.
